Suggested Madeira Classic 40 palette

This palette follows the main colors of the artwork. If you substitute threads, keep clear contrast between the eyes, pumpkin, greenery and dark outline.

Fabric and stabilization

• Stable cotton or linen: use a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer and hoop the fabric securely.
• Knit fabric and sweatshirts: choose cut-away stabilizer and do not stretch the fabric while hooping.
• Terry or textured fabric: add water-soluble topping so the outline and facial details remain above the surface.
• Felt: use dense, even felt that will not distort beneath the filled stitches.

A good starting point is quality 40 wt machine embroidery thread with a 75/11 or 80/12 embroidery needle. The final needle choice depends on the fabric thickness, stabilizer and thread type.

Important: the design contains substantial filled areas. Lightweight fabric may pucker or become stiff when support is insufficient. Test the complete design on matching fabric with the same stabilizer before embroidering the finished item.

What is the minimum hoop size?

The smaller file fits a 130x180 mm (5.12x7.09") hoop when rotated by 90 degrees, placing its 128.2 mm side across the hoop width. The larger file fits a 140x200 mm (5.51x7.87") hoop after rotation, with its 138.2 mm side across the width. Always compare the exact file dimensions with your machine's usable embroidery field.

Can I change the pumpkin colors?

Yes. The pumpkin can be orange, honey, beige or green. Keep strong contrast between the eyes, greenery and dark outline so the surprised expression remains easy to read.

Can I embroider this design on terry fabric?

Yes. Use suitable stabilizer underneath and water-soluble topping above the fabric. The topping prevents the outline, eyes and fine facial lines from sinking into the loops.
