Round Greek Key Medallion Machine Embroidery Design features five concentric meander rings arranged as a balanced circular ornament. The large geometric motif creates a strong focal point on cushion fronts, table-center panels, framed textile art and classical home décor.

The open center can frame a separately prepared monogram or emblem. This product contains files for computerized embroidery machines, not a finished cushion, placemat, patch or other physical item.

Which Projects Suit This Round Ornament?

  • Smaller version: statement cushion fronts, chair-back panels and framed textile art.
  • Larger version: large cushions, table-center panels, bed accents and wall décor.
  • Open center: a separate initial, family monogram or small classical emblem after testing the combined layout.

Which Embroidery Field Is Required?

The smaller file almost completely occupies a true 200x200 mm or 8x8 inch field. The larger file nearly fills a true 300x300 mm or 12x12 inch field.

Both versions leave very little clearance. Confirm the machine’s actual usable field, load the file before hooping and run a complete boundary trace. A nominal hoop name does not guarantee that the full listed area is available.

How Do You Keep the Circles Perfectly Round?

Concentric geometry makes even slight fabric movement visible. A shifted layer can turn the outer ring oval or produce uneven spacing between the meanders.

  • mark accurate horizontal and vertical center lines;
  • align the fabric grain with the hoop axes;
  • hoop the fabric and backing together without stretching;
  • support large fabric panels beside the machine;
  • check that the hoop is level before stitching;
  • complete a full test rather than testing only one ring.

Which Stabilizer Should Be Used?

For firm cotton, twill or tightly woven linen, test a medium-to-heavy tear-away such as OESD Ultra Clean & Tear. For flexible cushion panels, loose linen or frequently handled décor, use cutaway backing to preserve the circular structure after the item leaves the hoop.

Smooth woven fabric does not normally require water-soluble topping. Read the machine embroidery stabilizer selection guide for additional project-specific options.

How Should the Color Sequence Be Used?

The rings may be stitched in graduated shades, contrasting colors or one coordinated palette. When using one thread color throughout, keep the programmed sequence and allow the machine to complete each ring separately. Do not merge color blocks without a complete test.

FAQ

Will the smaller file fit every 8x8 hoop?

No. It requires almost the complete 200x200 mm field. Confirm the machine’s true usable area and run a boundary trace.

Will the larger file fit every 12x12 hoop?

No. It nearly fills a 300x300 mm field, leaving almost no working clearance. Check both exact sides before purchase.

How can I prevent the circular rings from becoming oval?

Align the fabric grain with the hoop, hoop all structural layers securely and prevent the surrounding fabric from pulling on the carriage.

Can a monogram be placed in the center?

Yes. Prepare the complete composition in embroidery software and test the sequence, spacing and final stitch load before using the project fabric.

Is this an ITH placemat or freestanding design?

No. It is a decorative motif embroidered directly onto fabric with suitable structural backing.

Can all rings be stitched in one color?

Yes. Load the same thread for each programmed color block, but retain the original stitching sequence.

Can I resize the files independently?

No. Independent resizing may damage stitch length, density, underlay and the equal spacing of the meander rings. Use the professional Resize of Design service when another size is required.
