Checkered Elf Mug-Rug ITH Machine Embroidery Design
**INSTRUCTIONS STEP BY STEP**
These instructions apply to all of our ITH placemats:
1. Adhere two layers of stabilizer to the fabric with temporary adhesive. Hoop the fabric with the stabilizers.
**TIP:** Before making the napkin, thoroughly wash and iron the fabric so that it does not shrink after washing the finished product.
2. We used the tear-away stabilizer Vlieseline Stickvlies or Stitch-N-Tear.
**TIP:** Use dense fabrics, such as linen with dense, even fibers, to ensure your product is of impeccable quality. You can also use dense polyester, which has a texture similar to soft velour.
3. We recommend embroidering the first color with silver thread to add a touch of glamour to the napkin. You can also choose a gold thread color. You can also use Gutermann Sulky Holoshimmer Thread, which has a unique metallic-like shine but is gentle on the embroidery machine.
4. Embroider the design. Before the machine starts embroidering the outline, stop the machine. Remove the hoops from the machine.
5. Flip the hoop over and spray temporary adhesive on the stabilizer from the wrong side. You need to place a piece of fabric UNDER the hoops, i.e., on the reverse side. This will be the back of the napkin.
6. It should look like in the photo.
7. Return the hoops to the machine and continue embroidering. The machine will embroider the outline. Embroider it in the color of your fabric.
8. Remove the hoops from the machine again. Trim the fabric close to the outline on both sides. It should look like in our photo.
9. Return the hoops to the machine, finish the embroidery. Tear away the excess stabilizer.
The Checkered Elf Mug-Rug is ready.
