For cotton, linen, canvas or stable felt, use a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer and a 75/11 embroidery needle. When stitching on a plush stocking cuff, terry towel, velvet or fleece, add water-soluble topping so the letter and botanical details remain clearly visible.

Use 40 wt polyester thread for washable towels, stockings and fabric gift bags. Rayon thread gives the poinsettia and decorative details a softer, more lustrous finish.
