Bring the color of a summer orchard to your projects with the Cherry Branches and Blossoms Machine Embroidery Design Set. The collection contains four botanical compositions: three leafy branches with glossy red cherries and one delicate branch covered with pale cherry blossoms.

Each composition is supplied in four sizes, making the set suitable for napkins, placemats, table runners, tablecloths, kitchen towels, aprons, tote bags and decorative textile panels. The detailed leaves, dimensional fruit and softly shaded flowers create a realistic botanical effect on both light and natural-colored fabrics.

What Is Included in the Cherry Embroidery Set?

The download contains four separate embroidery compositions:

  • three cherry branches with ripe red fruit and green leaves;
  • one flowering cherry branch with pale pink and white blossoms;
  • four embroidery sizes for every composition;
  • files for popular home and commercial embroidery machines.

The designs can be stitched separately or combined into a larger botanical arrangement for a tablecloth, table runner or decorative wall panel.

Embroidery Sizes, Stitch Counts and Suitable Hoops

Check the usable embroidery field of your machine rather than relying only on the hoop’s advertised outer dimensions. Do not reduce the files unless you can recalculate stitch density and verify the result with a test stitch-out.

Machine Embroidery File Formats

The downloadable archive includes the following formats:

.dst, .pec, .exp, .hus, .vip, .pes, .dat, .vp3, .sew, .tab. xxx, jef

Please select the format supported by your embroidery machine and verify the design orientation and thread-color sequence on the machine screen before stitching.

Recommended Fabric, Stabilizer and Needle

For cotton napkins, tablecloths and woven kitchen textiles, use a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer and a sharp embroidery needle in size 75/11. Canvas, thick placemat fabric and heavier table linens may require an 80/12 needle.

The flowering branch has a higher stitch count than the smaller fruit branches. On lightweight or loosely woven material, use an adhesive tear-away or a medium-weight cut-away stabilizer to prevent puckering around the flowers and leaves. The guide to choosing stabilizers for machine embroidery explains how the fabric structure affects stabilizer selection.

Use 40-weight polyester embroidery thread for washable kitchen textiles. Rayon thread may be used for decorative panels, napkins and other items that will not be exposed to frequent high-temperature washing.

How to Embroider the Cherry Branches

  1. Print or open the design template and mark the center and direction of the branch.
  2. Hoop the fabric and stabilizer together without stretching the material.
  3. Install a fresh 75/11 or 80/12 embroidery needle.
  4. Check the thread sequence and make sure the selected file fits inside the usable embroidery field.
  5. Stitch at approximately 600–700 stitches per minute, especially when working on loosely woven fabric.
  6. Remove the stabilizer carefully and press the finished embroidery from the reverse side.

For more information about preventing distorted outlines and puckering, read Perfecting Stitch Density, Fabric, and Stabilizer Balance.

Project Ideas for Cherry Machine Embroidery

  • place two mirrored branches at the ends of a table runner;
  • combine cherries and blossoms on a summer tablecloth;
  • decorate kitchen towels, aprons or reusable shopping bags;
  • create a coordinated set of placemats using a different branch on each item;

Frequently Asked Questions

What hoop size do I need for the cherry machine embroidery designs?

The smallest files fit a 100x100 mm (4x4") hoop. Depending on the selected composition and size, the larger files require 130x180 mm (5x7"), 140x200 mm (5.5x8"), 160x240 mm (6.3x9.45"), 180x300 mm (7.09x11.81") or 200x200 mm (8x8") hoops. Use the individual hoop recommendation shown beside each file size.

Can I embroider these cherry branches in a 4x4 hoop?

Yes. Each of the four compositions includes one version that fits a 100x100 mm (4x4") embroidery field. The larger versions cannot be stitched in a 4x4 hoop as a single file.

Are these cherry embroidery designs suitable for Brother machines?

Yes, provided your Brother machine supports one of the included formats, such as PES, and its usable embroidery field is large enough for the selected file. Always compare both design dimensions with the machine’s actual embroidery area.

Which stabilizer should I use for cherries on napkins?

Use a light- to medium-weight tear-away stabilizer for stable cotton napkins. For lightweight, sheer or loosely woven napkins, use an adhesive tear-away or an appropriate wash-away stabilizer to reduce shifting and puckering.

Can I embroider the cherry designs on kitchen towels?

Yes. Smooth cotton and linen-look kitchen towels are suitable with tear-away stabilizer. For terry towels, add a water-soluble topping over the fabric so that the smaller leaf and fruit stitches remain above the pile.

What needle should I use for a cherry branch embroidery design?

Use a fresh 75/11 embroidery needle on standard cotton or linen-look fabric. Choose an 80/12 needle for canvas, thick placemats or heavier kitchen textiles.

Can the cherry embroidery files be resized?

Minor resizing may be possible in professional embroidery software that recalculates stitches. Avoid enlarging or reducing a stitch file by more than approximately 10% without recalculation because this can change the density, underlay and satin-stitch length.

Can I combine the cherry branches into one large composition?

Yes. The four motifs can be arranged in embroidery software to create a table runner, tablecloth border or botanical panel. Check the combined dimensions, remove unnecessary overlaps and make a test stitch before embroidering the final item.

Is this a finished embroidered product?

No. This is a digital machine embroidery design set. Fabric, thread, stabilizer and a physical embroidered item are not included.

Should I make a test stitch before embroidering the final project?

Yes. Test the selected size on a piece of the same fabric with the same stabilizer, needle and thread. This allows you to check tension, registration, colors and fabric stability before stitching the finished item.
